Iran’s Seven-Day Proposal Could Reopen Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that Tehran’s seven-day proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz remains on the table, potentially offering a path toward easing regional tensions and restoring global oil shipments. Under the proposal, the Strait could reopen on the sixth day, followed by the resumption of negotiations on the seventh day, provided the United States meets Iran’s conditions.

Tehran’s demands reportedly include lifting the US naval blockade on Iranian ports, easing oil sanctions, and ending regional hostilities.

The proposal could represent a significant diplomatic development as the disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz threatens global energy supplies. The waterway is a critical route for international oil and liquefied natural gas shipments.

However, the proposal remains conditional. Until Washington accepts the terms and both sides implement an agreement, uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and global energy markets is likely to persist.
